The Geely Farizon New Energy Commercial Vehicle Shanghai Plant officially opened in the Jiading Industrial Zone on Oct 12.
Located at 1200 Xingrong Road, the plant will produce a range of vehicles, such as pure electric and methanol-hydrogen buses, municipal sanitation vehicles, urban delivery vehicles, and long-haul logistics trucks. It is expected to bolster the development of a green and intelligent urban transportation system.
Geely Farizon New Energy Commercial Vehicle Group, China's first new energy-focused commercial vehicle group, utilizes nearly two decades of methanol technology expertise. The group has pioneered a methanol-hydrogen electric strategy, achieving industrial-scale operations covering logistics, transport, urban delivery, and city buses. Their products are recognized for their environmental, economic, and reliability benefits, placing them at the forefront of international technology.
The plant's launch marks a significant milestone in Jiading's collaboration with Geely, setting the stage for deeper cooperation. The project is expected to accelerate Shanghai's green and low-carbon transformation, establishing a comprehensive transportation system solution and an integrated methanol-hydrogen fuel center. Geely also plans to further expand its industrial footprint in Jiading, contributing to the district's socio-economic growth.
