The seventh Yangtze River Delta Science and Technology Achievement Trade Expo, hosted by Shanghai's Jiading district, opened on Nov 13 at the Shanghai Automotive Exhibition Center.
Key officials attended the event, including Jiading's leaders and representatives from cities in the Yangtze River Delta (YRD) region like Wuxi and Taicang.
In his speech, Lu Fangzhou, Party secretary of Jiading district, highlighted the YRD's role as a hub for innovation. He emphasized the importance of collaborative innovation for regional development and noted Jiading's efforts in partnering with neighboring cities to build a "community" of technological innovation. The fair, he said, is a flagship event in these efforts. Jiading aims to build the event into a more comprehensive service platform and establish itself as a critical engine for regional innovation.
The event featured the award ceremony for the second Future Industry Disruptive Technology Competition, showcasing projects with disruptive technologies and promising industry prospects. Several of these projects have received national-level recognition.
Additional strategic initiatives such as the "Jiading Sub-Zone of Zhangjiang High-Tech Park Reform and Innovation Development Action Plan (2024-2026)" and the "Yangtze River Delta Technology Achievement Transformation Fund Joint Initiative" were also announced.
Running from Nov 13 to 15, the fair includes three main exhibition areas and, for the first time, sections for technology talent recruitment and tech finance. Over 70 activities, including the Yangtze River Delta Digital Development Industry Forum, have been scheduled.
The fair, a key platform for exhibitions, conferences, and transactions, covers over 20,000 square meters, with more than 1,000 innovation entities and 2,000 achievements showcased. It has facilitated over 1.2 billion yuan ($166.01 million) in technology transactions over the past six years, reinforcing its role as a crucial platform for regional technological collaboration and innovation.
