As "City Walk" and "City Ride" gain steam, Shanghai's Jiading district has jumped on the opportunity to introduce "City Fly". The Shanghai International Circuit started offering helicopter flights on Jan 1, allowing people to admire the city from above.
The experience begins at the Shanghai International Circuit, a key Jiading landmark. After fastening their seatbelts and donning their headsets, passengers are lifted off, treated to breathtaking views of landmarks like Ziqidonglai Park, Shanghai Poly Grand Theatre, and Yuanxiang Lake from above. High school student Zhou Minyi exclaimed, "It's so exciting! When the helicopter tilted, I felt like I was flying!"
Taking advantage of the New Year holiday, many tourists opted for this new way to enjoy Jiading's scenery. Sun Langni, after her first flight, said, "This exceeded my expectations! We waved to friends on the track during the New Year's run, and seeing their smiles made me very happy."
Former large aircraft pilot Chen Ning praised the experience, highlighting the professionalism of the pilots, especially during 45-degree bank turns.
The "Ground to Air: Speed and Passion" product offers two options: "Aerial View of the Circuit" (13 km, 3-5 minutes) and "Aerial View of Shanghai" (21 km, 5-8 minutes). Both options are available for individual, parent-child (1+1), and parent-child (1+2) bookings.
Passengers receive a safety briefing before takeoff, with ground staff offering assistance. In addition to sightseeing, helicopter flight training courses are available for enthusiasts and aspiring pilots. This new tourism project aims to boost cultural tourism consumption and support the low-altitude economy.
