The fifth session of the seventh Jiading District Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) opened on Jan 7.
A total of 25 CPPCC Jiading District Committee members from various walks of life attended the annual session of the district's political advisory body to offer comments and suggestions on the district's major political and social issues.
Yang Li, chairwoman of the seventh Jiading District Committee of the CPPCC, delivered a report highlighting the committee's efforts in 2024, which included serving the broader goals of the district and strengthened consultative democracy.
Looking ahead to 2025, Yang emphasized the importance of political consultation, democratic supervision, and participation in governance to align with the district's comprehensive reform goals.
Vice Chairmen Le Yueming presented a report on the proposals made since the third session of the seventh CPPCC Jiading District Committee. Over the past year, the committee received 165 proposals, with 154 accepted after review. By the end of 2024, all proposals had received written responses – a 100-percent response rate.
Outstanding committee members, excellent proposals, and information on important social sentiments and public opinion were also recognized and discussed at the meeting.
