The sixth session of the seventh Jiading District People's Congress was held in Jiading district, Shanghai, on Jan 7, with 249 deputies attending.
The attendees reviewed the progress made by Jiading in 2024 and learned about the district's plans for 2025.
Gao Xiang, governor of Jiading district, delivered the annual government work report, highlighting key achievements including economic recovery, development of new growth drivers, and improvement in living standards.
Looking ahead to 2025, the final year of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25), the report outlined goals for deepening reforms, expanding high-level opening-up, promoting technological and industrial innovation, and building a modern industrial system.
Eight key areas of focus were identified: boosting demand, implementing major strategies, building a modern industrial system, promoting urban-rural integration, enhancing cultural innovation, advancing green development, modernizing urban governance, and improving public welfare.
