Shanghai Motor Vehicle Inspection Certification & Tech Innovation Center Co Ltd (SMVIC) has announced the opening of the Shanghai Anting Test Track, a state-of-the-art facility located in Xinjing village, Anting town, Jiading district, Shanghai.
Spanning approximately 2,000 mu (133.33 hectares), it is the first comprehensive test track in China specifically for passenger vehicles and built to international standards.
The design of the Anting Test Track was inspired by the renowned Ehra Test Track of Volkswagen in Germany. It features a variety of test surfaces, including high-speed loops, dynamic squares, braking test roads, endurance alternating test roads, durability enhancement test roads, and performance test roads.
The project is the result of collaboration between Anting town, SAIC Volkswagen, and SMVIC and will leverage high-quality inspection and testing resources to enhance the development of the local automotive industry.
Since its establishment in Anting in 2003, SMVIC has evolved from a traditional, single-function testing organization into a reputable, third-party national-level vehicle product quality inspection and technology service provider. The company has made significant strides in the inspection and testing of new energy vehicles, intelligent connected vehicles, hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, intelligent electronic systems, and automotive chips. For the past eight years, SMVIC has consistently achieved double-digit revenue growth.
