The 2025 Shanghai E-Prix, a part of the Formula E World Championship, took place from May 31 to June 1 at the Shanghai International Circuit in Jiading district, attracting visitors from around the world.
The qualifying rounds instantly captivated attendees like Yemeni student Mido from Shanghai International Studies University. Enthralled by the intense competition, he and his partners discussed team strategies and monitored real-time data on car speeds and energy consumption. "It's an honor to witness such a grand event in Shanghai," Mido said. "The 1V1 duels are incredibly exciting and a highlight of my student life."
For Panamanian visitor Wu Jiamei, who attended an F1 race last year, the FE experience was notably different. "The most striking difference is the sound," she noted. "FE cars run almost silently, and the mid-race charging adds a unique twist."
Cameroonian attendee Freddy praised the electric motors' power, explaining, "The motors use advanced design and materials, enabling instant current adjustment and maximum torque output, making acceleration and overtaking impactful."
The visitors also explored the fan village, learning about Jiading's rich cultural heritage. They discovered traditional crafts like Anting medicinal cloth and historical sites such as the Jiading Confucian Temple.
"We've gained a deeper understanding of Shanghai and Jiading," said Mido. "We plan to visit these historical sites to experience the city's cultural diversity and inclusivity."
