In a bid to strengthen international business ties, the Hongqiao International Central Business District recently welcomed representatives from several foreign chambers of commerce, including those from the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Japan, and Turkey.
The visit aimed to showcase North Hongqiao's dynamic potential and explore future collaborations.
The delegation, hosted by local officials such as Zhang Bin, deputy director of the business district's administrative committee, and Lu Zufang, executive deputy mayor of Jiading district, began their tour at the Hongqiao International Central Business District Exhibition Hall.
They were briefed on the district's strategic development plans, which focus on integrating government and professional services to support businesses expanding internationally.
At the Hongqiao International Talents Service Center, the representatives expressed keen interest in the district's expat-friendly services, praising its one-stop convenience for foreign professionals.
The tour continued with a visit to the North Hongqiao Business District Exhibition Hall, where the unique advantages of the "One Zone, One City, One Bay" development plan were highlighted.
The group also explored cultural sites, including the Houpu Traditional Chinese Medicine Headquarters and the Qingu Art Museum, gaining insights into China's rich cultural heritage.
During a subsequent meeting, Lu Zufang emphasized Jiading district's blend of historical depth and modern innovation, positioning it as a cultural and technological hub. Zhang Bin highlighted Hongqiao's unique cultural atmosphere and development opportunities, inviting more international collaborations.
Following the visit, Stuart Dunn, president of the British Chamber of Commerce, proposed a larger UK-China business exchange event, signaling a promising future for international business relations in Hongqiao.
