German engineering giant FEV recently signed an agreement to establish its China headquarters in Anting town, Jiading district, Shanghai, marking a new phase in its Chinese expansion.
Since entering the Chinese market, FEV has supported local companies like SAIC Volkswagen and ZF Shanghai in developing automotive powertrain and smart driving technologies. Now, its world-class engineering services will be channeled through its new Chinese headquarters, providing a strong engine for the local auto industry.
As Anting is developing a national pilot demonstration zone for intelligent and connected vehicles, the new headquarters will collaborate with local research platforms to accelerate the localization of FEV's advanced technologies.
FEV will use the headquarters as a hub to attract upstream and downstream enterprises in the industry chain, such as intelligent driving sensor companies and new energy component manufacturers, to settle in Anting. This will help build an industrial cluster centered around FEV, further enhancing Anting's comprehensive ecosystem of "vehicles + components + R&D + services".
The local government has committed to providing comprehensive support, offering targeted policy assistance to ensure the project's success.
Founded in 1978, FEV is a global leader in automotive engineering, expanding from internal combustion engines to include vehicle development, intelligent driving, powertrain and battery systems, aerospace, energy, and strategic consulting. It develops technologies and strategic solutions for the world's largest automakers and clients across the entire transportation and mobility ecosystem.
