The China Association for Science and Technology, or CAST, on July 5 launched an automotive industry electronics committee that consists of Chinese overseas returnees.
The launch event in Anting town — located in the Jiading district of Shanghai drew over 70 leading companies from the automotive chips and electronics sectors.
The committee aims to leverage the expertise of overseas returnees to improve the automotive electronics industry in China and globally. It seeks to improve local supply chains and promote the high-quality development of Chinese automotive chips.
The event also launched platforms to localize automotive chips testing equipment and to support overseas expansion, address equipment dependency and provide comprehensive export services.
Anting plans to support the committee by promoting auto companies-committee collaboration on the development of key components. Moreover, it will integrate service resources to help the committee's member companies go global and offer policy incentives.
