Two innovative dishes from the Jiading district of Shanghai recently triumphed at national culinary competitions.
The recognition came after Shanghai Newyingyuan Catering Management Co Ltd developed "Grass-Tied Dual Delicacies" — Yellow Grass Tied Pork and Shanghai Yellow Sauce.

Yellow Grass Tied Pork made it to the 2024 Top 100 Fast-selling Dishes selected by the China Cuisine Association. Not to be outdone, Shanghai Yellow Sauce won a gold award in a national group meal contest.
The first dish creatively uses yellow grass and Xuhang straw plaiting — adding a very special, lasting fragrance.
Yellow Grass Tied Pork, meanwhile, has evolved from a classic — using pre-treated grass to reduce greasiness, in a dish that is slow-cooked to absorb the rich flavors.

Shanghai Yellow Sauce revives a once-lost rural dish, with lovely pork filling wrapped and tied with yellow grass for aroma.
The local firm aims to spread Xuhang straw plaiting and yellow grass culture through its cuisine, putting a great deal of effort into reviving and innovating these traditional dishes.
After winning the national recognition, the dishes are now available at multiple restaurants across Jiading, allowing customers to savor the award-winning flavors and cultural heritage.
