The Jiading Industrial Zone — located in Shanghai's Jiading district — announced strategic partnerships at the recent 2025 EESA Summit (Shanghai) with nine companies, in a move to create the Shanghai Zero-Carbon Park.
Organized by the Electric Energy Storage Alliance or EESA from the Jiading Industrial Zone, the summit aimed to boost the growth of the energy storage industry and its integration with renewable energy.
During the event, nine companies — including TUV SUD Smart Energy and Envision Group — signed agreements with Jiading Industrial Zone to collaborate on energy storage projects and establish the Shanghai Zero-Carbon Park.
The companies are said to be bringing onboard expertise in energy storage cells, systems and solutions — promising to support the zone's energy transition.
Xu Hailiang, vice-president of TUV SUD Smart Energy, highlighted the company's commitment to helping Jiading enterprises with emissions reductions and carbon footprint calculations. "We aim to assist companies in overcoming industry barriers related to carbon neutrality," he said.
The partnerships are expected to accelerate the development of renewable energy projects like a planned independent energy storage power station. They'll also promote new energy models such as microgrids — aiding the zone's green manufacturing transformation and reducing carbon emissions.
Shen Jian, manager at Jiading Industrial Zone Economic Development Co, gave details on plans to explore innovative emissions reduction models, aiming to make the zone a green transformation leader.
The summit also introduced the UN Global Innovation Center's Digital Decarbonization Platform, a tool for global climate action collaboration.
