Listed testing group UTIC, or United Testing Inspection and Certification Technology Co, will build its industrial testing and research headquarters in Anting town in Shanghai's Jiading district.
The facility is expected to generate an annual output value of over 200 million yuan ($28.1 million) annually after becoming fully operational in 2027.
Headquartered in Changzhou city, in East China's Jiangsu province, UTIC currently has more than 70 subsidiaries.
Its main business covers testing, inspections and certification services for the construction industry, while expanding into quality technology services in new technologies, new materials and emerging industries.

Since 2023, the company has strategically expanded into automotive testing, focusing on component-level examinations. These include materials, performances, environmental reliability and electromagnetic compatibility. Anting town, as a hub for the auto industry, is known to have a pressing need for such testing services.
The new facility will be located on Yuanfu Road in Anting town. It will integrate automotive research and testing, industrial product inspections and export certifications. Once operational in 2027, it will contribute no less than 30 million yuan annually to the local economy, with projected revenue growth of 15-20 percent per annum.

Chairman Yang Jiangjin said inspections, research and tailored solutions have been central to UTIC's development.
By leveraging its expertise in building inspections, the new headquarters aims to provide high-end local testing services and to attract new economic sectors including intelligent robotics and the low-altitude economy.
