( english.jiading.gov.cn ) 2025-10-13

The eighth Scientific Technology Fair for Yangtze River Delta Region is set to take place from Oct 15 to 17 in Jiading district, Shanghai. This event will gather technology departments, research institutions, and innovators from 41 cities in the region.

"The fair will showcase cutting-edge innovations and provide a platform for cross-industry exchanges, helping coordinate industrial growth across the region," said Wang Hang, a key organizer.

The fair will cover over 10,000 square meters and will feature three special zones that highlight regional cooperation, national innovation, and technology transfer, respectively.

Two new exhibition areas will focus on future industries, including drones and embodied intelligence.

Projects from the recent Jiading Future Industry Disruptive Technology Competition will also be displayed. Attendees can engage with interactive exhibits on intelligent technology, aiming to show how these advancements can benefit everyday life.

The event will include an opening ceremony and a youth scientist forum, encouraging dialogue among the technology, industry, academia, and investment sectors.

"Around 60 activities will focus on collaborative innovation in the Jiaxing-Kunshan-Taicang area, university research outcomes, and technological talent," Wang added. "We will also enhance technology transfer mechanisms and deepen regional cooperation."

This year marks the 10th anniversary of Jiading's role as a key area for the Shanghai International Science and Technology Innovation Center. Jiading, along with Kunshan and Taicang, has launched a major investment fund and established alliances to boost industrial and technological collaboration.

Since its start in 2018, the fair has grown significantly, involving over 1,000 exhibitors, connecting more than 4,000 enterprises and generating over 1.7 billion yuan ($238.37 million) in technology transactions.
