The eighth Scientific Technology Fair for the Yangtze River Delta (YRD), held from Oct 15 to 17 in Jiading district, Shanghai, wowed visitors with cutting-edge robotic innovations.
The event showcased impressive progress, from robots demonstrating dance moves and engaging in friendly conversations to a robot capable of performing "minimally invasive surgery" on engines.

One standout was a humanoid robot that amazed audiences with its energetic dance and martial arts skills, such as flying kicks and rolls. Developed by Shanghai Shuangying Aviation Technology Co Ltd, this robot employs sophisticated navigation and AI to "see", "speak", and "act" with precision. CEO Xiao Rongwei shared his vision: "We aim for robots capable of performing daily tasks like delivering parcels, executing household chores, and caring for seniors, integrating advanced technology into everyday life."
The fair covered over 10,000 square meters and highlighted technological achievements from the Yangtze River Delta. Cities such as Nantong, Taicang, and Kunshan showcased their joint tech innovations. Moreover, 22 projects that received awards at the Jiading Future Industry Disruptive Technology Competition were also displayed.

A key highlight was the Snake Arm Inspection Robot, recognized for its potential in the large-scale equipment maintenance industry. Created by Ningbo Austatu Mechanical Technology Co Ltd, this robot provides efficient and accurate inspections without needing disassembly, which reduces costs and improves quality. Technical Director Xiang Yanshu said, "This robot, fitted with an endoscope, can thoroughly explore machinery, turning 'craniotomy' into 'minimally invasive surgery'."

Another highlight was the Companion Chatbot developed by Shanghai Cibaosikai Medical Technology Co Ltd, aimed at elderly people with cognitive impairments. Utilizing cutting-edge digital human technology, this AI companion offers warm, empathetic interactions and professional assistance. Chairman Gao Hong praised Jiading's supportive environment, saying, "The emphasis on AI and healthcare innovation here boosts our confidence. We look forward to working with more peers to develop future-oriented products in Jiading."
The fair provided a platform for showcasing technological achievements and fostering collaboration across industries. By facilitating the exchange of ideas and resources, the event aimed to boost innovation and promote coordinated development throughout the industrial chain.
