Shanghai's Jiading district attracted 14 projects at its investment promotion conference on Nov 8 during the eighth China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai.
The event highlighted Jiading's dynamic and open business environment to a global audience. It showcased Jiading's industrial strengths, service offerings, and global ties. Jiading is prepared to collaborate with international partners to foster a new era of high-quality development.
The conference's excitement swiftly translated into action, resulting in 14 high-quality projects signed across areas such as intelligent vehicles, AI, and biomedicine. These projects are poised to boost regional growth.
Companies are choosing Jiading for its efficient business environment.
"From our first contact, the district assigned a dedicated liaison and clear guidance throughout the process," said Yao Shulei, chairman of a Shanghai-based aviation equipment manufacturer.
"Their proactive service gives us confidence in our long-term growth here." Jiading's expertise in automotive innovation and smart manufacturing aligns well with corporate strategies, making it an attractive location for expansion.
Jiading's success is backed by an optimized investment service system. The district employs targeted approaches to attract businesses, innovative platforms to address financing challenges, and extensive support at every stage of a project, facilitating easy settlement and growth for companies.
The CIIE is a global event, and Jiading used this platform to present its vision, which includes Jiading New City, Shanghai International Automobile City, and the North Hongqiao Open Innovation Pilot Zone. Each region emphasizes different development facets, ranging from urban expansion to advanced manufacturing and innovation.
Jiading is further expanding its global presence by opening an investment liaison office in the Netherlands, marking its sixth overseas location. This follows previous offices established in Tokyo, Frankfurt, and Paris.
"This marks a new phase of global engagement for us," said Gu Qingfeng, deputy director of the Jiading District Investment Promotion Service Center. The Netherlands office will focus on connecting with European markets, targeting high-end manufacturing and biomedicine.
