For instance, Aumovio Shanghai, a resident company, operates a "dark warehouse" where automated systems work without lighting, saving a significant amount of energy and reducing carbon emissions by about 350 metric tons annually. The zone is expanding its use of distributed energy systems, combining solar power with factories, parking lots, and logistics parks to create a clean energy network. A new 50 MW/200 MWh energy storage station is under construction in an effort to stabilize renewable energy use and support the zone's carbon reduction goals.
