Tenneco is a leading global manufacturer of automotive parts, providing innovative solutions for vehicle manufacturers and the aftermarket. Its products are used in various sectors, including light vehicles, commercial trucks, industrial applications, and motorsports.
The P3 certification system evaluates plants on their operational systems, key performance indicators, on-site audits, and an accelerator program. The certification has three levels: bronze, silver, and gold. Achieving bronze certification indicates that the Shanghai plant has a strong and sustainable operational foundation.
Since its establishment in Anting in 1999, the Tenneco Shanghai plant has focused on producing vehicle exhaust and emission control systems. It serves major clients like SAIC Volkswagen, SAIC GM, and Chery Automobile. The plant also plays a pivotal role in Tenneco's strategy to expand in China and help local businesses compete globally.
The certification is expected to help the Shanghai plant attract more domestic and international clients and support the export of high-quality products to overseas markets.
