At the 2026 World Strawberry Expo in Hangzhou, strawberries from Shanghai's Jiading district made a big impression, winning one gold and two silver medals among over 190 varieties from across China.
These award-winning strawberries came from a local cooperative and included the varieties "Zijin Xiangxue", "Hongyan", and "Jingjiao Xiaobai". They were praised for their plumpness and rich aroma.
"Zijin Xiangxue" is known for its firm texture and sweet taste. Despite its sensitivity to light and temperature, careful cultivation has led to robust sales.
"Our meticulous management has ensured high-quality fruit, earning us a gold medal," said grower Fei Xueying.
The "Hongyan" and "Jingjiao Xiaobai" varieties each won silver medals, showcasing Jiading's advanced agricultural practices and commitment to quality.
The district's agricultural center plans to support more cooperatives and help local farmers enhance their product competitiveness, further boosting the reputation of "Jiading Strawberries".
