China's United Imaging Healthcare has announced that its uCT SiriusX, the first CT scanner in China to adopt dual-source dual-wide-body detector technology, has been approved by the National Medical Products Administration for market release.
The uCT SiriusX offers an impressive 8-millisecond full-heart temporal resolution and 16 cm full-organ coverage. It also provides clearer and more comprehensive imaging than traditional high-end CT scanners.
The company said the technology allows for dynamic imaging, making it possible to see and understand the movements of the heart and other organs like never before. This capability is particularly beneficial for detecting early signs of movement-related disorders.
In cardiac imaging, the uCT SiriusX can capture detailed images of coronary arteries and heart valves, offering reliable data for medical assessments. It also supports imaging of the entire body, accommodating patients who may have difficulty holding their breath during scans.
The uCT SiriusX has already undergone clinical testing at several major hospitals in China.
Jiading district, where the company is located, is striving to develop a robust biopharmaceutical industry. By 2027, it aims to become a leading hub for high-end medical devices, with significant growth in both the production and innovation of medical technologies.
