Car enthusiasts worldwide are invited to gather in Shanghai's Jiading district to enjoy the excitement of F1 racing and a lively carnival designed specifically for them.
The 2026 F1 Chinese Grand Prix is set to take place from March 13 to 15 at the Shanghai International Circuit in Jiading. This event will bring together the world's leading drivers and teams, drawing fans from across the globe.
Alongside the racing, the 2026 Shanghai Auto Culture Festival will kick off on the same day and run through May 5. This 54-day festival promises an exciting blend of motorsports and cultural activities, aiming to be a grand celebration that unites motorsports with tourism and commerce.
With the theme "F1·Box in Jiading", this year's festival features a wide array of activities spanning automotive sports, cultural tourism, and commercial exhibitions, making it a shared experience for all.
Deputy District Head Tang Dongying emphasized the festival's role as a global showcase for Shanghai. "We're creating a city carnival that truly understands car enthusiasts. Our 'F1·Box in Jiading' brand invites fans worldwide to make a pit stop here," Tang said.
From March 8 to 15, the 2026 Checkered Flag Carnival, an event accompanying the F1 Chinese leg, will extend beyond its main venue in Jiading district to unfold across four locations: Xuhui Riverside, Shanghai International Circuit, North Bund, and Baoshan Riverside. This will bring the excitement of F1 to everyday public spaces for both dedicated fans and casual visitors.
The circuit, serving as the main venue, will host a theme park featuring an exhibition on the evolution of automobiles. As a grand finale, the OCR Car Show Festival will be held at the circuit in May, celebrating the automotive lifestyle.

Jiading has also introduced specially-designed tourism routes for auto enthusiasts, featuring an auto culture itinerary that connects attractions like the Shanghai Auto Museum and the Shanghai International Circuit. Visitors can enjoy themed tours and discounts through the "Watch the Race, Explore Jiading" activities, encouraging extended stays in Shanghai.
Spectators seated in the E-stand during the championship will receive a Shanghai Pass card, which offers multiple discounts at commercial complexes, restaurants, and hotels.
Additionally, visitors holding ticket stubs for auto-related events, including the F1 Chinese Grand Prix, the CTCC China Touring Car Championship, and the China GT Championship, will be eligible for complimentary admission or discounted entry at district landmarks.
Jiading is also offering car purchase subsidies of up to 25,000 yuan ($3611.89). The "Drive New Cars, Explore Jiading" initiative offers additional discounts to those buying vehicles in Shanghai.
Beyond traditional events, themed pop-up stores along Metro Line 11 and in major shopping areas will showcase F1 merchandise and local cultural products. Communities will host automotive-themed markets and performances, creating immersive experiences.
