The 2026 Checkered Flag Carnival, a key part of the 2026 Shanghai Auto Culture Festival, kicked off on March 8 at Shanghai's West Bund Dream Center.
Car enthusiasts marveled at classic models from famed F1 teams such as Ferrari and Mercedes-Benz, part of a special exhibition by the Shanghai Auto Museum. "Seeing these cars up close is a real treat," said a visitor surnamed Feng.
The show will run till March 15, spanning four key locations: the West Bund Dream Center (March 8-15), the Waterscape Plaza at the Shanghai International Circuit (March 13-15), the North Bund International Passenger Center, and the Shanghai Sea World outdoor atrium (March 8-15).
The North Bund venue offers a 24-hour karting experience, ensuring non-stop excitement.
The carnival aims to blend motorsport culture with city life, offering a unique mix of culture, commerce, tourism, sports, and exhibitions. Visitors can enjoy vintage car displays and live performances.
It has also introduced a "Super License" stamp book, encouraging visitors to explore venues and enjoy discounts across Shanghai. A bilingual app and user-friendly signage make the event accessible to international guests, highlighting Shanghai's global appeal.
