The first peony of spring has blossomed at Shanghai's Guyi Garden in Jiading district, marking the start of the garden's annual spring festival, which runs through May 5.
The early-blooming peony, named Tongyun, boasts large, lively purple-red flowers. It belongs to the Central Plains peony group.

Additionally, enhanced guided tours will be available on weekends in April and during the May Day holiday.
From March 13 to May 5, the park is partnering with the 2026 Shanghai Auto Culture Festival to offer a 20 percent discount on adult admission tickets with auto event ticket stubs.
