Jiading district embraced the May Day holiday with a vibrant array of cultural and tourism activities, drawing approximately 638,000 visitors and generating around 1.05 billion yuan (about $154 million) in tourism revenue from May 1 to 5.
The district saw a significant year-on-year increase of 48.51 percent in tourist visits and 7.87 percent in hotel occupancy rates.

Nanxiang Ancient Town stood out as a major attraction, hosting a "Wandering Chaxi: A Collection of Chinese Aesthetics" event that featured hanfu (traditional Chinese attire) -free tours, national-style performances, and a bustling market. The town welcomed about 255,000 visitors, marking a remarkable 129.32 percent increase from the previous year.

Parks across the district also thrived. Zhenxin Shuqiao Park organized a pet-friendly music festival, while Shanghai Auto Expo Park offered exclusive deals for couples. Jiabei Country Park hosted a "Garden Auto Life Party", attracting 62,000 visitors with its engaging activities.

Cultural venues were equally popular, with 78,000 people attending various exhibitions and performances. The Jiading Cultural Center showcased traditional Chinese flower-and-bird paintings, while Shanghai Poly Grand Theater captivated audiences with the play Teahouse and the national dance drama Awakening Lion.
