As summer arrives, nearly half of the lotuses in Jiabei Country Park in Shanghai's Jiading district are in full bloom, creating a refreshing seasonal landscape.
Lush green leaves provide a backdrop for delicate pink, red, and white lotus flowers. The flowers range from fully opened blossoms to tender buds, while a faint fragrance drifts through the air.
Many visitors come to the park and enjoy the scenery. A visitor surnamed Sun from downtown Shanghai said the open rural landscape, free from towering buildings, offers a welcome escape from the pressures of urban life.
The park is home to three lotus varieties with staggered blooming periods that extend from June to October. Meanwhile, the park's colorful hydrangeas are also at their peak and well worth viewing.
