An international exchange event on industry-education integration in vocational education was held from June 30 to July 1 in Shanghai's Jiading district and Taicang, Jiangsu province, with a focus on sharing global cooperation practices.
Organized by the China Education Association for International Exchange, the event gathered representatives from more than 60 vocational colleges across China.
Wang Luxin, deputy secretary-general of the association, said that vocational colleges should balance bringing in high-quality international resources with expanding global cooperation, while strengthening partnerships with leading international enterprises to improve their education and training capacity.
At the event, experts and college representatives explored strategies to better integrate vocational education with industrial growth. Sun Shanxue, a professor from Beijing Foreign Studies University, highlighted the importance of reforming essential aspects of vocational training.
Shanghai Vocational College of Science and Technology shared its experience in developing international cooperation platforms, including green and low-carbon technology centers established with Schneider Electric and technical service centers created in partnership with German companies.
Several vocational colleges also presented successful collaboration models in fields including intelligent manufacturing, robotics, and aviation equipment. Representatives from enterprises, including Schneider Electric and TUV Rheinland, exchanged views on improving cooperation mechanisms and cultivating high-quality technical talent.
During the event, participants also visited industry-education practice centers and international cooperation bases in Shanghai and Taicang to explore innovative approaches to vocational education.
