Visitors to Shanghai's Jiading district can enjoy a lotus-themed sightseeing route during the 13th Shanghai Lotus and Water Lily Exhibition.
The tour begins at Guyi Garden, the exhibition's main venue, which showcases more than 500 lotus varieties and over 110 water lily varieties. Highlights include new flower varieties making their Shanghai debut and giant Victoria water lilies.
A short walk away, Nanxiang Ancient Town and Tanyuan Garden offer traditional Jiangnan scenery, where lotus ponds blend into historic streets and classical gardens.
The route also includes Yinxiang Lake and Liuyun Lake, where expansive lotus fields line the waterfront, offering a peaceful setting for summer walks.
The final stop is Nanxiang Incity Mega, which features indoor lotus-themed displays for visitors to enjoy and to take photos.
The lotus experience continues with seasonal local cuisine. Guyi Garden Restaurant is serving a special lotus-inspired menu, and the popular lotus root and pork soup dumplings are available in several flavors.
During the exhibition, which runs through July 28, visitors can also enjoy discounts at select restaurants and shops with their exhibition tickets.
