Tang Qixuan, a student from Shanghai Polytechnic College of Art & Design, will represent China in the 3D Digital Game Art event at the 48th WorldSkills Competition held in Shanghai from Sept 22 to 27. She is the first official WorldSkills competitor from Jiading district.
Originally majoring in advertising design, Tang developed a passion for 3D digital game art at 16 after attending a digital media lecture. Boasting balanced and stable comprehensive skills, she claimed top awards in Shanghai and national vocational skills contests, securing her spot in the world-class competition.
Tang undergoes rigorous daily training from 8 am to 10 pm year-round. The challenging event requires contestants to finish four core professional modules within 22 hours across four days, covering a full workload equivalent to four game industry positions. All works are graded and sealed daily with no revisions permitted.
In the final sprint, her team focuses on mock tests and targeted revisions to optimize her skills and mentality. Tang's participation marks a historic leap for Jiading, which also has three local reserve contestants for different events. Boasting a solid talent cultivation foundation since 2006, Jiading continues to support young skilled talents to compete on global stages.
