A "California Center" opening ceremony was recently held in Jiading Industrial Zone, at which Fei Xiaomei, the vice deputy of Jiading district was in attendance.
It is the first time for the state of California to organize a mass agribusiness group tour to China, and the State government is looking for further business cooperation with Chinese enterprises through the visit.
According to a report in Eastday website, the "Center of California" is a trade and investment promotion platform which is supported by the United States government, with the aim of enhancing bilateral cooperation with China in products, services, technologies and knowledge sharing. It has set up two experience centers in Shanghai and Wuxi at the current time, and will continue to visit other major cities of China.
Zhu Yanming, the CEO of CHIC Group, which is the regional cooperative partner of “California Center”, said the “California Center” is urging the promotion of American leading technology firms into the Chinese local market, and help to accelerate the agricultural modernization of China. The trade exchange between California and Shanghai has over more than 100 years of history. With the growing demands from the China domestic market, there is increasing bilateral business in two areas. California, by virtue of its information technology, agriculture, bio-pharmaceutical and clean energy industries, has become one of the most important markets in Sino-US economic and trade cooperation.
