A first-aid training program in Jiading district was selected as one of the innovative voluntary projects in Shanghai, according to a report from the Shanghai Association of Volunteers on July 23.

The training program aims to teach residents basic first-aid knowledge and skills, so that when emergencies occur, they can come to the rescue before ambulances arrive.

Since the program was launched this year, the district emergency center has organized a series of voluntary services, including first-aid training, distributing medical brochures on self-aid and mutual aid to residents, and volunteer recruitment and training in schools, communities, enterprises and military camps. Over 300 people were qualified for first aid through training in the first half of this year. The center will continue to spread first-aid knowledge and skills.
