The 2nd National Primary and Secondary School Quality Curriculum Symposium was held in Jiading district of Shanghai on Nov 11-14.
More than 1,600 curriculum research experts, education scientific researchers, primary and secondary school principals, and outstanding teachers from 24 Chinese provinces and cities such as Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Beijing and Shanghai attended the event to discuss in-depth ways of curriculum reform and share successful experiences.
Jiading's curriculum reform, focusing on culture and technology, was presented during the symposium.
Attendants visited Jiading's primary and secondary schools on Nov 13 to witness a dozen special curriculums including Jiading No 2 High School's HEMTS (Humanities, Engineering, Mathematics, Technology, and Science) course, Nanyuan Primary School's STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathmatics) course, and Xuhang Primary School's traditional Chinese culture-feature course.
After the visit, experts highly praised Jiading's efforts in combing regional characteristics with quality education.
