Shanghai Jiading Anting Motor City opened a kart racing park on May 11 which revolutionizes motorsport experience by using customized electric automobiles. The rapid acceleration and ultimate thrill ride impressed lots of fans.

The first-of-its-kind park in the country imported SodiKart, the world’s leading kart brand from France, at a cost of 100,000 yuan ($14,542) each.

Instead of using the traditional steering wheel, the cars adopt the type used in Formula 1 which can make a big turn with the shortest hand movement. According to a staff member, there is a tailor-made "push to pass" button that enables drivers to speed up to reach the maximum 80 km/h in a very short time.

These features have made the sport more exciting and a greater pleasure to enjoy, just like F1, said a park manager. It also made the sport more environmentally friendly.

Another big attraction is that the uniquely designed speedway has two tracks: the smaller one for beginner players is 7.8 meter in width and 100 meter in length while the other is 340 meters long and 7.8 meters wide. They can be connected to comprise a larger race circuit containing a variety of track modes, a perfect choice for car-racing games and also a good way for car-racing fans to practice and learn and to recreate and relax.

In addition, the professional-grade timing equipment is accurate to within a thousandth of a second.

Besides the racing tracks is a recreational area consisting of two floors. The first floor gives multiple go-cart experience while the second offers food, leisure, entertainment, and cultural services.
