Jiading district held its 16th vocational skills competition at the Shanghai Automobile Exhibition Center on Oct 30, attracting more than 300 contestants from various fields.
This year's competition set up a Jiading-Kunshan-Taicang skill exchange program for the first time, allowing 18 mechatronics professionals from three regions to compete with each other and showcase their superior skills.
The skill exchange program was designed as a platform for talents from three regions to compete and learn from each other so as to improve their own skills, according to a manager.
The competition also set up six selection programs for areas such as fashion design technology and jewelry processing to select candidates who would represent China at the 47th World Skills Competition in Lyon, France in 2024.
Various activities involving crafts such as flower arrangement, Chinese cooking, car repairing, digital game art, Nanxiang steamed buns, and yellow grass weaving were also staged at the competition.
Jiading has been holding the vocational skills competition since 2006, with a total of 13,612 contestants having participated. In addition, 7,542 contestants have acquired national vocational qualification certificates.
