As of April 9, a total of 555 patients have left the makeshift hospitals in Shanghai's Jiading district and returned home, including 346 from the makeshift hospital in the Jiading Sports Center, 162 from the one on Liudao Island, and 47 from the one on Xingrong Road.
Every patient that returned home from the makeshift hospital on Xingrong Road received a card congratulating them for recovering and returning home.
"I am very thankful for the medical workers' care during my six-day stay here in the hospital," said a patient who was discharged from the hospital on April 8.
"There was a psychiatrist comforting me when I was anxious and could not fall asleep," he added.
The makeshift hospital on Xingrong Road is the third one that was built in Jiading district, and it has a total of 1,180 beds and is managed by 168 medical workers.
"In addition to the routine medical care, we must care for the psychological needs of our patients," said Xie Yuelin, who is in charge of the makeshift hospital.
Therefore, the hospital implemented some heart-warming measures such as caring for patients with urgent and critical illnesses, special needs, and responding to their needs immediately.
Careful medical workers also noticed every patient's birthday. For example, three patients whose birthdays were on April 7 celebrated a special birthday together in the makeshift hospital.
