Born in Germany, Kai-Marcel Dodel has rich experience in advanced project management and serves as a general-manager at ZF Transmission Shanghai Co Ltd, which is located in Jiading district, Shanghai and specializes in the most advanced technology in car making.
Having lived in China for 12 years, Dodel said that Shanghai, where high-level talents gather and the establishment of social networks can be quite easy, is full of opportunities.
Dodel always feels proud of his team, which is mostly comprised of Chinese natives, adding that he has learned a lot about Chinese culture from them.

Having lived in Jiading for six years, Dodel said that he really enjoys life there. He married a Chinese woman, and currently they raise two kids and two dogs. He named one of his dogs after the town his family lives.
Dodel noted that he loves spending time with family. In his spare time, he often walks his dogs and tries snacks on Jiading’s streets with his wife.
Every morning, he rides a bike to his company. According to Dodel, newly opened schools and shopping centers along the road to work always bring surprises to him.
As the city grows greener and the infrastructure has been upgraded, he thinks that his life in Jiading will only get better and better.
