Various peonies are gradually blooming in Shanghai Guyi Garden in Jiading district, attracting many visitors to see the elegant and fragrant flowers.
"I come to see the peonies around Qingming Festival every year because the garden has peony flowers of various colors including white, red, pink, and purple," said Lyu Weiqun, one of the visitors. He added that it is very beautiful when the peonies are in full bloom.
According to Wang Guanfei, a staff member at Guyi Garden, the garden grows more than 100 varieties of peonies in nine different colors. "Since spring came earlier this year, the peonies are blooming slightly earlier than in previous years. Some overseas varieties of peonies will also bloom one after another soon and they are expected to be in full bloom this week," said Wang.
During the peony season, Shanghai Guyi Garden will also launch activities such as the peony flora-makeup experience, a peony-themed guided tour, and a peony flower arrangement to enrich the flower appreciation experience for visitors.
