The city of Lublin is the capital of Lublin province in Poland and is located 170 kilometers from the country's capital Warsaw. It established friendly relations with Shanghai's Jiading district in 2011.
As the ninth largest city in Poland, it covers an area of 147 square kilometers and has a population of about 350,000.
Lublin is now divided into 27 districts. The central urban area is rich in tourism resources, as well as trade and service industries. The surrounding urban areas boast a mix of residential communities, industrial parks, breeding farms and science and technology parks. Its economy is centered around food processing, machinery manufacturing, automobile production, energy, furniture, sugar, flowers and dairy industries.
