The 2024 International Intelligent Manufacturing and Robotics Industry Development Conference took place in Nanxiang town, Jiading district, Shanghai, on Oct 26.
Industry experts, scholars, and business representatives from around the world gathered to explore cutting-edge technologies, development trends, and opportunities and challenges in intelligent manufacturing and robotics. Several cooperation agreements were signed on-site to advance the development of smart robot applications.
A highlight of the conference was the corporate presentations, during which participants discussed the latest advancements and future applications of all-terrain robots, humanoid robots, pipeline robots, and construction robots. These robots demonstrated significant potential in complex operations, human-machine interaction, and smart decision-making.
International experts shared their latest research and experiences. A Canadian Academy of Engineering academician detailed key advancements in intelligent robotics and humanoid robot development. A foreign academician of the Japan Academy of Engineering analyzed the opportunities and challenges in robotics technology.
The conference also saw the formation of the "Intelligent Manufacturing + Humanoid Robotics Innovation Cooperation Alliance", comprising the iRIC Intelligent Manufacturing and Robotics Global Joint Innovation Center, Shanghai University, and 11 specialized companies. This alliance aims to facilitate collaborative research and innovation in humanoid robotics and intelligent manufacturing.
Participants agreed that intelligent manufacturing and robotics are key drivers for the transformation of the global manufacturing sector, enhancing efficiency, quality, and sustainability. With the rapid advancement of AI, big data, and IoT, the industry is poised for significant growth. Collaborative efforts among industry, academia, and research institutions are crucial for technological innovation and industrial application.
Taking the conference as an opportunity, Nanxiang town, where the total output value of intelligent manufacturing enterprises has reached 8 billion yuan ($1.12 billion), launched the iRIC Innovation Month, inviting entrepreneurs to invest and collaborate.
